Carta do Nepal — Dang
Letter from Nepal — Dang
Atos 20:24
Enfrentamos chuvas, estradas perigosas, abismos, pontes quebradas, caminhos tortuosos e lugares onde parecia impossível continuar.
Em alguns momentos, o meu coração temeu. Mas me lembrei:
"Entrega o teu caminho ao Senhor, confia nele, e ele tudo fará."
Salmo 37:5
O Nepal enfrenta grandes desafios espirituais, sociais e morais.
To all who pray and invest in this mission.
Dear brothers, pastors, friends, and companions on this journey,
I write this letter here from Nepal with a heart full of gratitude to God, and also with deep emotion for everything we have experienced on this trip.
I want to share with you a little of what happened along the way here. You weren't physically with us, but every prayer, every word of encouragement, and every investment is part of this journey. In some way, you are here with us in Nepal too.
When we set out on this trip, we knew we would face difficulties, but we never imagined how many challenges would appear along the way.
"But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God."
Acts 20:24
We faced rain, dangerous roads, ravines, broken bridges, winding paths, and places where it seemed impossible to go on.
At some moments, my heart grew afraid. But I remembered:
"Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."
Psalm 37:5
We also came upon an enormous mound of earth completely blocking our path. We had to turn back and look for a new strategy.
And I thought: how many times this also happens in our lives!
Sometimes mountains rise up before us. There are obstacles that seem impossible to overcome. But that doesn't mean we should give up.
If God has given you a mission, keep walking. If the road is blocked, look for a new strategy. God can open a new door!
At other times, the car got stuck, and we had to wait. And I learned once again that, in the Christian walk, there are moments when we need to wait for God's right timing.
Not every wait means defeat. Sometimes waiting is also part of the purpose.
Here in Dang, we visited pastors, churches, and families — we talked, we shared, and we organized what needed to be done.
Even in the midst of tragedy, conflict, and hardship, we have seen God moving and working over this nation.
Nepal faces great spiritual, social, and moral challenges. But we hold to one certainty:
The Gospel changes the history of peoples and nations!
To all of you who pray, who invest, and who believe in this mission, I want to say personally: thank you so much.
There was weariness, fatigue, anguish, and distress. But we also experienced the joy of reaching what God had set before us.
THE RESULT OF ALL THE EFFORT
And in the end, we were able to see the result of this whole journey.
We saw the joy on the faces of the people who received the donations you sent. We saw families being reached, people receiving help, and communities realizing they are not alone.
In that moment, we understood that every prayer, every contribution, every effort, and every mile traveled was worth it.
The joy of those who received also became our joy.
And I want you to know: you are part of that result.
Even from far away, your prayers and your investments reached all the way here. What you did in love became help, hope, and joy for people who were facing very difficult days.
A SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST
So I want to close with a very special request:
Please, keep praying for us.
Pray for our protection during our travels and for the roads we still need to cover.
Pray for the pastors who are with us, for the churches, for the families, and for all the people we'll meet along the way.
Pray that God will give us wisdom for every decision, discernment for every strategy, strength for every challenge, and sensitivity to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Pray also that, in the midst of all the needs and difficulties we encounter here, the name of Jesus will be proclaimed, lives will be reached, and the Gospel will advance in Nepal.
And above all, pray that we never lose sight of the purpose of this trip: to serve, to love, and to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ.
From here in Nepal, my gratitude and my prayers for each one of you.
May we continue together — praying, investing, and fulfilling the mission God has placed before us.
Hitherto hath the LORD helped us! To Him be all the honor, all the glory, and all the praise!
In the name of Jesus, from Nepal to the nations.
I greet you all with a holy kiss in the name of Jesus. My traveling companions send you their greetings.
